Competitions & Club Updates
Welcome everyone to the 2026 bowling season. This message is to make you aware of the plans for this year’s competition events.
Throughout the season we are intending to hold 8 competitions. There will be 4 pairs competitions, run as one day, round robin events and 4 singles events. The singles events as in previous years will require individuals to arrange games with their advertised opponent.
Three of the singles and one of the mixed pairs competitions will involve the use of a member’s handicaps. Whereas the Merit Cup will be as the name suggests, it will be on an individual’s Merit. The individual competitions will be knockouts and the mixed will be round robin events.

Handicaps will be displayed in the club house.

As usual competition entrance will require members to put their names down on the sheet/s in the club house Please put your names down as soon as possible, the success of these competitions relies upon participation.
​
Due to problems with the Merit cup last year. Entry into it has changed in that, ALL bowling members will be entered (unless they opt out). Whereas ALL social members will need to state their interest in partaking.
​
The Merit will be run similar to the FA cup, in that each round will be drawn from the previous round winners, therefore please play your games by the date advertised. Once again Steve Dearman will be organising this event so any questions please contact him.
​
Sheets and dates of all events will be posted in the club house from March 14th (green opening date). Please enter as many as possible these are fun events, and who knows you could end up with a cup to polish You will also become part of the history of the Rams Head Bowling Club.

On a more serious note, competitions don’t just run themselves. If any member feels they could help promote and champion the running of any of the competitions, please contact a member of the committee.
